Philosophy of Education

The philosophy of education at Hill Country Academy is founded on the Word of God and reflects the mission of Hill Country Church and our Statement of Faith.

Hill Country Academy believes that admonition to “train a child in the way he should go…” (Proverbs 22:6) includes a well-balanced and high quality education that is based on Biblical foundation.

We believe that children are truly a “gift from the Lord” (Psalm 127:3).  Therefore, our purpose is to train and inspire children to embrace and obey the Word of God – ultimately leading them towards acceptance of the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.

We believe that obedience is the heart of character training, which will cultivate an inner self-control as children mature.  We believe this to be essential to the emotional, physical and spiritual well-being of each child.

Hill Country Academy believes that a child is best trained when there is a unity of vision in the training from the parents, the school and the church.  It is important that we are all, “…standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel” (Philippians 1:27) to “…make my job complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose” (Philippians 2:2).  We strive to encourage that unity by developing a close bond of fellowship between the parents, students and faculty.   We believe that this type of training will best equip children for their role in God’s plan and for the proper places in society.
